Carrier vessel transit
When vehicles ship overseas from manufacturing plants, carrier ships carry thousands of orders across the ocean. Ship tracking is an optional Pro feature in BETA that lets you follow a linked carrier vessel on a live map.

VIN assignment in order data
Tesla assigns a Vehicle Identification Number when a specific car is matched to your reservation. Your VIN can appear in your raw order details before it shows on the main Tesla app screen.

Tracking aids, not confirmations
Vessel coordinates and detected VINs are helpful tracking aids to keep your wait in perspective. They are never Tesla's confirmation of which ship or VIN has been assigned to your order.
